Sinners Swing! Debut LP from Chicago's TPz, a boisterous 3 piece rock machine led by producer Mike Lust. They swig from a chalice shared by Punks, Glammers & Arena Rockers alike.

Crazy When Wet is the unchained debut from Chicago bring-da-party band Tight Phantomz. Following their well-received Nightfool EP (released April 2004), Crazy When Wet is one mother load of a boogie record; complete with a mid-lick swinging dropkick to the face of convention, and a shady hoochie-koo shuffle step that would make the Starchild himself proud. This is fair warning people, oh yes. Tight Phantomz are fresh outta the back of the limo, and are here to flaunt their dirty sinner grind.

Don't listen to me listen to the record! Open your ears to 'Hash Sisters', 'Dancing on the Freeway' and 'Do Us All A Favor', the jagged molten embers of noted Chicago outfit Lustre King are still evident (Mike Lust was the guitarist and vocalist, Jay Dandur and the drummer in said group), but Tight Phantomz is so much more, Cale Arthur's wrecking-ball-to-the-low-end bass, pumping up their sound to within breaking. Tight Phantomz are all about playing live, their energetic performances quickly becoming legendary. No audience is safe. Everyone will be violated and annihilated by the Phantomz live show- their tender one minute/ferocious the next dirty boy rock boogie, the rock gymnastics and five fingered James Brown dominance of Lust, The Entertainer, coupled with the mindset that whatever your troubles were, whatever pinned you down, didn't matter, because it was time to get it on!

Recorded at the bands' owned and operated Phantom Manor Studio (where Lust recorded Ten Grand, Sweep The Leg Johnny, William Elliott Whitmore, We Ragazzi and a hundred others), Crazy When Wet reveals the Phantomz aren't satisfied with the same old rock and roll pick up lines. These nine originals and the cover of Fleetwood Mac's ‘Albatross', are a snotty blast of attitude and classic rock bombast, with the frenzy of a house party over run by the sweaty city kids that came to steal your car and meet your sister. This ain't no indie-hipster fashion campaign, this is pure 100% bravado-fueled rock heroics with a tip of the hat to ZZ Top, and a lick and a promise to those, literally, about to rock!

Southern Records London, UK

Fiercely independent since forever, Southern Records has a musical pedigree which stretches way back to 1977, when a band called Crass was founded (and proceeded to change punk & the world forever...but that's another story). For years Southern operated as a recording studio & the biz wheels behind labels like Crass, Corpus Christi, Bluurg & Dischord, before launching an eponymous imprint in 1991 ... more
